Got into San Francisco around 9:00 PM. Checked in at the St. Regis (a Starwood Hotel that clearly gets it). The room is excellent, modern clean lines and simple yet understated service. Perfect.
Was too late for dinner at Ame Restaurant (they close at 10), so I got a dinner recommendation from the concierge — a place called Osha, a great modern Thai restaurant with solid food. Couple misses though: 1) ridiculously long forks and spoons and no chopsticks for noodle dishes; 2) service was a bit slow. Otherwise a fantastic space and dinner. Tomorrow I start with a run, breakfast and then off to the Web Analytics Training Day.
Sadly I’m too early for the Asian Art Museum and the exhibit of cartoons from Tezuka (father of magna and anime which starts June 1) but I will try to catch the R. Crumb exhibit at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts, located near the hotel if I get a chance.
