Oh what fun, what joy. Today I started migrating my current HBX account over under a new “centerpoint ID” and accounts (cost savings among the reasons). Turns out that while WebSideStory has a method to migrate stats data from one account to another, it does not have a method for doing the same with their Active Segments, Funnels and Population Groups. So this means I have to re-enter all of these manually into HBX. Grrrr…

Then I found out after-the-fact that none of my old funnel and population group data can be carried over either. Resulting in either entries that are labelled “Unknown” or missing or duplicate IDs. Ridiculous.

Odd that vendors don’t take these things into consideration. I can’t be the first person who’s ever done this, or something similar. At the very least put in place tools that allow all this information to be exported into .CSV files from one account, then re-imported into your new account with the click of a couple buttons.
